Two Aggravated Robbery Suspects Sought By Austin Police

Police say 2 men —​ including one with an assault-style rifle —​ entered a C-Mart store in South Austin and fled with cash, lottery tickets.

AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Police Department is seeking help from the public in identifying suspects wanted in connection to an aggravated robbery incident this week in South Austin.

The incident occurred on Monday at around 5 a.m. inside the C-Mart convenience store at 7811 S. 1st St., according to a police advisory. Law enforcement officials said two Black men — including one armed with an assault-style rifle — entered the store before confronting the clerk. According to police, the two men forced the clerk to hand over cash, Texas Lottery scratch-off tickets and vapor cigarettes before fleeing the scene on foot, headed eastbound on Dittmar Road.

Suspect 1: The first suspect is described as having a dark complexion. He is of average height and weight, and is believed to be in his late teens to early 20s. He donned a dark-colored COVID-19 mask, white “Poetic Justice" hoodie with a red undershirt, baggy gray sweat pants, black/white basketball shoes and tan gloves.

Suspect 2: The second suspect was described as having a light complexion. He is of average height and weight, and believed to be in his late teens to early 20s. He donned a light-colored COVID-19 mask with black trim, white hoodie with a pouch pocket, maroon or dark red-striped Polo-style undershirt, black athletic pants, black/white Jordan basketball shoes and gray gloves. Police said this suspect was armed with an assault-style rifle.

As they continue their investigation, detectives ask anyone with information to contact them at (512) 974-5092, Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS, submit a tip on the Crime Stoppers website or use the Crime Stoppers app. Police stressed those submitting tips have the option to remain anonymous. Moreover, tipsters may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Tips also can be submitted anonymously via the police department's app Austin PD, which can be downloaded for free on iPhone and Android.
