UT-Austin Reports 59 Coronavirus Cases In 2 Days
369 students and 187 faculty have contracted the virus since March 1 as reported on a statistical dashboard mainatined by the school.
AUSTIN, TX — The University of Texas at Austin reported 59 cases of the coronavirus in a span of just two days, according to the school's statistical dashboard.
On Tuesday, the university reported 17 cases of the respiratory illness. This was followed by 42 reported cases on Wednesday. The data are compiled in a statistical dashboard maintained by UT-Austin.
According to the dashboard, 369 students and 187 faculty have contracted the virus since March 1 for a total of 556 cumulative infections.

UT Austin Student and Faculty/Staff New COVID-19 Cases per Day
University officials explained on the dashboard that this section of the dashboard displays new positive cases per day and includes results of tests conducted in University Health Services (UHS) and UT Health Austin (UTHA) clinics, proactive community testing at UT Austin, and positive test results reported to UHS and UT’s Occupational Health Program (OHP) by students, faculty, and staff tested at facilities other than UHS or UTHA.

UT Austin Student, Faculty and Staff Proactive Community Testing
This section displays results of proactive community testing conducted on the UT campus. The pie chart shows an aggregate summary of all proactive community testing conducted to date and the table includes test results and total tests conducted each week.
