Former UT Student Accused Of Assaulting Staff Member: Police

Police said that the assault happened at the south plaza of the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering​.

AUSTIN, TX — A former UT Austin student is accused of assaulting a staff member on campus Saturday, according to UT police.

Police responded to the assault at the south plaza of the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering around 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. A staff member said that the attacker, who the staff member did not know, walked up to him and began hitting him, according to police.

The staff member suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment.

Police said the attacker is in custody for assault.
