• Hood County Attorney Says Residents Are Afraid To Speak Out After ‘Meme' Arrest (dallasexpress.com) — Local officials are facing scrutiny after Hood County Attorney CJ Grisham said a resident felt too intimidated to criticize county employees over the arrest of Granbury activist Kolton Krottinger for a political meme. A judge found no probable cause, but prosecutors still plan to take the case to a grand jury in January. The sheriff insists the arrest followed Texas law and was not politically driven, keeping this a closely watched Granbury free-speech fight.

• Golf to host ‘fantasy land' Intercollegiate tournament in Fall 2026 (acuoptimist.com) — Granbury’s new Halbert National Golf Course will host a nationally televised ACU Intercollegiate golf tournament Oct. 19–21, 2026, bringing top college teams like Baylor, Oregon, and Texas A&M to town. • Scared Chihuahua Reunites With Her Worried Family After She Was Found as a Stray in the Rain (pethelpful.com) — A tiny Chihuahua named Queenie was rescued from the rain in Granbury and reunited with her worried family thanks to a Good Samaritan and an up-to-date microchip. The dog slipped out of a pet-friendly motel room, but Lucky Dog Rescue quickly stepped in, warmed her up, and contacted her owners.
