• Kaufman police officer dies in head-on crash (kltv.com) — A Kaufman police officer from Wolfe City was killed Monday morning in a head-on collision about a mile south of Greenville on State Highway 34. Texas DPS says 26-year-old Officer Austin Cooley crossed into oncoming traffic and died at the scene, and his department is asking the community to keep his family and colleagues in their thoughts.
   

• Trojans play well in Fannindel Tournament (ssnewstelegram.com) — Cumby’s Trojans had a strong showing at the Dec. 4-6 Fannindel Tournament in Ladonia, winning four of five games. Their opening matchup was a dominant 49-6 victory over the Greenville Homeschool Archers, led by standout scoring and all-around play from guard Chayton Vaughan.
