Five Harlingen CISD students earned positions in Texas Music Educators Association Texas All-State ensembles.
All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive.

To qualify for All-State ensembles, students go through a series of audition rounds, in which their musical skills are put to the test. More than 70,000 students initially enter the TMEA All-State competitive process. From those, only 1,875 students across Texas are selected to perform in 18 All-State ensembles.
All-State musicians will perform in San Antonio at the Henry B. González Convention Center as part of the 2022 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
The following students earned a position in one of the All-State ensembles:
Harlingen High School South Band
Daniel Hernandez – 12th grade – Tenor Trombone
Izaiah Gonzales – 12th grade – Percussion
Harlingen High School Band
Benjamin Jaso – 12th grade – Tenor Saxophone
Harlingen High School Choir
Cadence Carpio – 12th grade – Alto 1
Emilia Bautista – 11th grade – Soprano 2
