• Ballet Folklorico del Rio Grande show lights up Harlingen (valleycentral.com) — Harlingen residents can catch Ballet Folklorico del Rio Grande’s Christmas-themed show at the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium on Sunday, Dec. 28 at 5 p.m., featuring Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuellar. This is the troupe’s only Rio Grande Valley performance, with tickets available online or at the door an hour before showtime.
   

• Elections department responds to complaints of political signs along Cameron County roads (krgv.com) — Drivers in Harlingen are raising safety concerns about dense clusters of campaign signs along Rangerville Road that they say block views of oncoming traffic. Cameron County’s elections office says it has no authority over sign placement, while Harlingen officials report no formal complaints yet and note that local rules and property owners largely govern where signs can go.
   

• Must check-out holiday light displays in the Rio Grande Valley (valleycentral.com) — From a massive drive-through trail in Hidalgo to illuminated festivals and home displays in McAllen, Weslaco, and Mission, there are plenty of holiday lights within a short drive of Harlingen.
