HOUSTON, TX — A man who caused a fiery DWI crash that injured two Houston Police officers has been charged, police said. Cesar Collazo, 24, is facing two counts of assaulting a peace officer and two counts of failing to stop and render aid.

Officer Alonzo Reid, 25, and officer John Daily, 25, were responding to a call in the area of Telephone Road and Peekskill at about midnight Monday with their lights and sirens, according to Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo.

That's when Collazo turned in front of the police vehicle, hitting them head-on. The HPD Tahoe rolled several times and erupted in flames.
