2nd Drive-By Shooting Suspect Arrested, Police Said

Brandon Wayne Savoie, 18, was arrested on Sunday and is charged with tampering or fabricating evidence, police said.

HOUSTON, TX — Investigators have arrested a second man who allegedly took party in the drive-by shooting that injured a 7-year-old boy earlier this month. Harris County Sheriff’s investigators arrested 18-year-old Brandon Wayne Savoie on Sunday. He is charged with tampering or fabricating evidence, police said.

According to investigators, Savoie allowed the shooter, identified as Omarion Philip Bailey, 19, to drive his car while he rode in the passenger seat.

Investigator said that on Dec. 8, Savoie and Bailey saw an 18-year-old man they’d been fighting with earlier driving a Cadillac Escalade at the intersection of Fort Stanton and Gray Hawk imn west Harris County.

Bailey fired a handgun several times at the vehicle, striking it and the complainants 7 year-old brother in the back seat, according to police.

The boy was driven to Katy Memorial Hermann Hospital by his brother, and later taken by life-flight to Texas Children's Hospital (Medical Center). He is currently in good condition and is expected to make a full recovery.

After the shooting, police said Savoie tried to hide the car and remove the vehicle identification number [VIN] from the car. Bailey and Savoie are being held in the Harris County Jail.
