Teens Demolish 20 Cars On Car Lot, Cause $800K In Damages: Police

More than 20 cars were damaged at a Carmax lot in Spring after several teens had a demolition derby, and caused $800,000 in damages.

SPRING, TX — Four teenagers are charged with felony criminal mischief after they broke into a car lot in northwest Harris County on Sunday night, and damaged more than 20 cars parked on the lot, police said.

On Jan. 6, 2019, Pct. 4 deputy constables were called to the Carmax Dealership located in the 16100 block of the North Freeway after security footage caught four young men breaking into vehicles.

When deputies arrived, the four suspects fled on foot throughout the parking lot. Deputies set up a perimeter, and with the help of a Constable K9, all four were apprehended and identified as juveniles.

Deputies determined that the juveniles managed to gain access to the dealership keys, broke into several vehicles and crashed them into over 20 vehicles parked on the lot.

Officials estimate the damage at about $800,000.All four juveniles were arrested and booked into the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center, and charged with 1st degree felony criminal mischief.
