Burglary Suspect Wounded In Shootout With Deputy Constable

Jacques Dunn, 58, is charged with burglary to a habitation and aggravated assault on a peace officer. He is being held without bail.

HOUSTON, TX — An armed burglary suspect was shot and wounded by a Harris County deputy constable after he allegedly pointed a gun at deputies while fleeing a burglary scene. The shooting happened just before 4:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 16200 block of Lobo Lane, according to police.

Deputies were called to the home after surveillance video captured an unknown suspect breaking into a home.The deputy arrived a few minutes later and saw a man trying to flee the residence. The deputy ordered the suspect to stop, but he continued to flee.

As the deputy pursued him, police said the suspect turned towards the deputy and pointed a handgun at him.

The deputy quickly fired his weapon first and shot the suspect. EMS transported the suspect, identified as Jacques Dunn, to a local hospital in critical condition.

Dunn, 58, was charged with of burglary to a habitation and aggravated assault on a peace officer. He is being held in the Harris County Jail without bail.
