Chevy Trucks Top The List As Most Stolen Vehicle In Houston

Car thieves seem to have a passion for pickup trucks in Houston with more than 400 reported stolen in April.

HOUSTON--The Houston Police Department has released its list of the vehicles that thieves are targeting the most in the Houston. According to HPD, car thieves have an eye for Chevy pickups and actually stole 175 of them in April.

In fact, thieves almost exclusively stole trucks in Houston last month, getting away with 161 Ford pickups, 73 GMC pickups, and 49 Dodge Ram trucks.

After the American made pickups, Chevy Cars were tops in stolen cars with 46 taken in April, followed by 42 Toyota cars, 35 Ford cars, 29 Honda cars, and 25 Nissan cars.

Those who drive a Toyota pickup were the last targeted by car thieves in Houston, with only 23 reported stolen last month.

Law enforcement officials warn car and truck owners to make sure your vehicle is locked at all times, even with it is parked in front of your home.
