Deputies Arrest 5 Teens, Bust Up Car Burglary Ring

A teen is accidentally shot with a stolen gun, leading to the arrest of four others and the recovery of thousands in stolen property

TOMBALL, TX -- The accidental shooting of a 14-year-old boy on Tuesday led to the recovery of several stolen guns and the arrest of four other teens on felony organized crime charges. Harris County constables responded to the shooting at a home in the 19400 block of Ambrosia Falls, where they found the boy critically wounded from a gunshot wound to his neck.

The wounded teen was transported to a local hospital in critical condition while the other four juveniles were detained for questioning. During their investigation, deputies found three stolen guns and a stolen vehicle at the house.

The recovered stolen property was found to be from recent burglary cases in northwest Harris County, according to a press release from the Harris County Precinct 4 Constables Office.

The burglaries occurred in the past month throughout the Tomball Parkway and Spring Cypress areas.
Investigators reviewed several home surveillance videos from the recent car burglaries and were able to tie all five juveniles to dozens of crimes, clearing burglaries in Lakewood Forest, Faulkey Gully MUD, Villages of Northpointe, Oakcrest, Fairwood, Village Creek, Grant Meadows, Harris County MUDs 368, 286, 282, and 18, according to the press release.

“All five juveniles will be charged with State Jail Felony Organized Crime and 3rd Degree Felony Theft of a Firearm pending approval from the Major Crimes District Attorney,” Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said in a statement.

Investigators said the teens could be responsible for more burglaries. Because they are all juveniles, their names and photographs were not released. All stolen property recovered will be returned to the rightful owners.
