Deputies Hand Out Free Watermelons To Beat The Heat

SPRING, TX -- Nothing is as refreshing as ice cold watermelon on a hot summer day.
To help beat the heat, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman and a number of his deputy constables handed out about 300 watermelons to fellow first responders, area churches, assisted living facilities and residents in the northwest Harris County on Thursday morning.

Herman shared the watermelon giveaway on the department's Facebook page on July 4, urging residents to come out and grab their free watermelon the next day.
The watermelons were donated by Atkinson Farms, located at 3217 Spring Cypress Road, and were handed out in the Harris County Precinct 4 Substation parking lot, 6831 Cypresswood Drive.
