Deputy Constable Injured In Hit And Run Accident

An off-duty deputy constable was hurt when his motorcycle collided with a car on FM 529. The driver of the car fled the scene of the crash.

HOUSTON, TX– A veteran deputy from the Precinct One Constable’s Office is recovering from injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car Monday morning.

The crash happened at about 2:30 a.m. in the 14100 block of FM 529.

According to Kevin Quinn with the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable's Office, the deputy had just finished his shift and was riding his personal motorcycle with friends when a car pulled out in front of him.

The deputy’s motorcycle hit the car along the rear driver’s side quarter panel, which caused the deputy to be thrown from his motorcycle.

Despite his injuries the deputy went to check on the driver at scene, but the driver fled on foot, leaving his wrecked vehicle behind.

The deputy didn't suffer any life threatening injuries, Quinn said, but he did suffer several broken bones from the crash.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case as a hit-and-run. If anyone has information about this case you can contact the HCSO Traffic Division at (713) 274-7400 and refer to case number HC18-113336.
