Driver In SH-99 Crash Has Criminal History: Police
Charles Glaze, 54, who caused a fatal crash on the Grand Parkway on Wednesday, was free on bond for aggravated kidnapping in June 2017.

SPRING, TX — The man who caused the horrific crash that killed two people and injured four others on the Grand Parkway on Wednesday, was out on bond on a previous charge in Montgomery County, officials said.
Charles Glaze, 54, who was released in June 2017 on a $250,000 bond, was wearing an ankle monitor as part of his release at the time of the crash. He was arrested last year after a woman who was visiting her sister's grave site at Klein Memorial Cemetery in Tomball, claimed Glaze used a stun gun and tried to kidnap her.
Glaze, who is cooperating with police, told investigators he does not know what happened before the crash, police said.

Investigators said Glaze was entering the westbound lanes of the Grand Parkway just before 2 p.m. on Wednesday when he drifted off the road and hit a concrete guard rail.
Witnesses said the pickup veered left and crossed the center median hit a metal guard railing, which sent the pickup airborne and into the eastbound lanes.

The crash killed Michael Brown, a Vietnam Veteran, and injured his wife. Brown was behind the wheel of a Chevy HHR that was crushed when Glaze’s pickup came into the eastbound lanes and smashed into them.
The Browns, who live in Humble, were described as good people by their neighbors.
"He would sit out there with his dog and wave every time we drove by," Lori Butler told KPRC. "He's just a wonderful neighbor that we're going to greatly miss."
Meanwhile, investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash. Investigators said Glaze was driving at the posted speed limit of 75 miles per hour when the crash occurred.
Sgt. Aric Albers, an accident investigator with the Harris County Sheriff's Office, said the crash scene was the worst he’d ever experienced in his 23-year career.
Officials said charges could be filed with the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
