Ex-Texas Children's Hospital Staffer Jailed On Child Porn Charge
Carlo Carreon is accused of possession of child pornography and is in the Montgomery County Jail with his bond set at $1 million.

CONROE, TX-- A former Texas Children’s Hospital employee was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of child pornography. Carlo Carreon, 49, is in the Montgomery County Jail with his bond set at $1 million.
Carreon was a former respiratory therapist at Texas Children’s Hospital, but it isn’t clear how long he was employed at the hospital or if any of the images or alleged incidents involved patients at the hospital.
Scott McCann, spokesman for the Conroe Police Department said in a press release that the department and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were assisted by the the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in their investigation. McCann said they were able to determine their that investigation that Carreon had an electronic device that contained child pornography.

"Officers were able to identify a child in at least one of the images who was in fact under the age of 17," McCann said. "With these facts, officers were able to obtain a possession of child pornography arrest warrant."
Police were unable to release any more information on this investigation. Hospital officials fired Carreon when they learned of the charges against him, officials said.

Texas Children's Hospital released the following statement on Carreon’s arrest:
"We were informed by the Montgomery County Sheriff's office that one of our former respiratory therapists was arrested. The charges relate to allegations of possession of child pornography. We are very troubled and deeply disappointed by this information and the employee was terminated when we became aware of the charges.
Texas Children's Hospital is cooperating with authorities. Due to the ongoing criminal investigation, we will not be able to share additional information at this time. We appreciate your understanding."
The case is under investigation.
