Explosion, Fire Rocks Jersey Village Scrap Yard
Firefighters are on the scene of a fire at a scrap yard in the northwest Harris County community of Jersey Village.

JERSEY VILLAGE, TX — Firefighters from the Cy-Fair Fire Department and the Jersey Village Fire Department are responding to an explosion and a fire at a metal scrap yard in Jersey Village.
The explosion was reported at about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, in the 12000 block of F.M. 529, near Northwoods Industrial Park.

A witness who has an office near FM 529 and Fairview, said he heard and felt the explosion, and that it actually shook his office building.

Initial reports indicated the fire was a trash fire that ignited a propane tank. Officials are still on the scene of the incident. There do not appear to be any injuries
