Gexa Energy Launches Community Heroes Grant Program

Community Heroes grants will be awarded on a quarterly basis. Requests for grants must be submitted by May 26.

HOUSTON, TX -- Gexa Energy, a leading retail electricity provider in Texas, announced the launch of Community Heroes, a grant program designed to empower the public to make a positive impact by requesting funds to support a local charitable organization, program, or cause.

As part of Gexa Energy’s ongoing commitment to the community, Community Heroes grants will be awarded on a quarterly basis, and preferred consideration will be given to projects, organizations, and initiatives focused on shelter, clothing, health, education, or character building. Requests for grants must be submitted by May 26, 2017.

“We are dedicated to serving Texas, not only by providing affordable electricity plans, but by supporting charitable programs and initiatives that are important to our customers and community,” said Brian Landrum, president of Gexa Energy. “Giving back to the community in which we live and work is at the very core of our organization’s values. Through Community Heroes, we are building relationships with our neighbors and providing charitable organizations with the assistance they need to succeed and improve the quality of life for all.”

The Community Heroes grant program is one of Gexa Energy’s many charitable initiatives that supports the company’s service area.

Gexa Energy is dedicated to the community and facilitates numerous giving programs and employee volunteer initiatives. The company has partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Houston Food Bank, Rebuilding Together, United Way, and other organizations throughout Texas.

To request a Community Heroes grant, interested parties can email community@gexaenergy.com with their contact information, name of the project, program, or cause to receive the grant, and details about how the grant will be used to benefit the community. Projects are eligible for up to $500 for 501c3 organizations, and up to $250 for other community causes. There is a limit of one contribution award per project or organization per year. Grants are awarded once per quarter.
