1. The city of Humble is taking measures to protect its residents against catalytic converter theft with the unanimous approval of a new ordinance May 12. According to City Manager Jason Stuebe, the ordinance mirrors a similar measure recently adopted by the city of Houston. (Community Impact News)

2. U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee is teaming up with the National Association of Christian Churches Houston to give away baby formula Saturday to Houstonians in need. The giveaway will happen today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Yates High School. (KHOU 11)

3. Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo's indicted staffers are fighting with the district attorney's office over bond conditions following allegations they steered a multi-million dollar county contract to a particular vendor. No decision was made on Friday and the group will all be back in court in mid-June. (ABC 13)

4. An 18-year-old was arrested Friday for his involvement in a shooting that happened at Heights High School, Houston Independent School District Police Department said. HISD police said the teen is among at least five people suspected in the shooting. (Click2Houston)

5. Catch a cultural celebration of Asian fashion, art, and music that Houston First Corp. and Avenida Houston will be hosting today, May 14 from 4 to 9 pm. Guests can enjoy traditional and contemporary music and dance performances, a fashion exhibition featuring traditional attire from several Asian countries, and an outdoor market featuring local AAPI-owned businesses.
