1. City of Houston has announced a meeting scheduled for May 5 for the planned development of new affordable homes along Stella Link Road. The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Harmony School of Ingenuity on 10555 Stella Link Road, Houston. It is intended to give nearby residents a chance to provide input on the project's design. (Community Impact Newspaper)
2. A 4-year-old boy was shot in the head with an unattended gun that wound up in a 9-year-old child's hands, deputies said Monday. The sheriff's office received a call of the shooting at about 12:20 p.m. in the 22300 block of Guston Hall Lane, located not too far from the Grand Parkway in west Harris County. (ABC 13)
3. U.S. President Joe Biden was expected to meet with the parents of Austin Tice in Washington D.C. on Monday. Austin is a Houston native and journalist who disappeared in the Middle East in 2012. (KHOU 11)
4. Levi Goode will unveil his newest project, Goode Co. Fish Camp, today. It is located in the former Goode Co. Barbeque space at 8865 Six Pines Dr. The menu includes oysters, shrimp, crab fingers, and the company's signature campechana in a seafood tower. (CultureMap Houston)
5. The father who desperately tried to save his two children from a burning home over the weekend, Dustin Jones, is a firefighter with the Galveston Fire Department, officials confirm. The fire broke out around 2:35 a.m. Saturday on 21st Street and Avenue K. Both kids were rushed to UTMB Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. (Click2Houston)
