Houston Area Yuletide Events Happening This Weekend
There's lots of holiday events happening this weekend in communities all over the Houston area. Here are about 12 we thought were cool.

HOUSTON, TX — If you’re ready to get a head start on your weekend plans, there are plenty of events happening in communities all over the Houston area. The events this weekend run the gamut from fun holiday-themed events at Houston area parks, to events in downtown Houston,Sugar Land, The Woodlands, and more.
Check out some of the cool events happening in your community this weekend, and Santa Claus will have a lot to do with. In fact, he is gonna make appearances all over the Houston area this weekend.
Children’s Campfire Christmas| Friday 6-8 p.m.| George Ranch in Richmond| Tickets are $35 for adults; $25 for kids; $10 for children 3 and under| Take in all the family-fun Christmas events fro hayrides to Christmas crafts.

Pasadena Open Market and Breakfast with Santa| Pasadena| Campbell Hall 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM|| Featuring Breakfast with Santa, Sponsored by McDonald's (Please bring your own camera to take pictures with our Santa.) "Recipe for Success" booth featuring fresh vegetables. - Merchandise - Cottage Food - Food Trucks. This is a free event.
Santa Train at the Galveston Railroad Museum| Galveston, TX 10 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.| Come enjoy an afternoon with Santa! Santa arrives at noon and will be available in the Depot to meet with children and take pictures. Train rides on the Harborside Express will at noon with Santa's arrival.
Special Event Admission: $12
Children age 12 and under are free
Ticket to ride the Train: $5, ages 3+

A Winter Wonderland at Balmoral| Humble, TX| The public is invited to bundle up the family for seasonal fun and Santa as Balmoral transforms into a Winter Wonderland, 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Balmoral Clubhouse, 15808 Crystal Terrace Drive.
Come chill with Santa while enjoying crafts for the kids, a giant snow globe, photo opportunities with a stuffed reindeer, a DJ and more. Funnel cakes, hot cocoa, holiday games and decked out model homes will keep cheeks rosy and everyone toasty. Cost for the 2nd Annual Winter Wonderland is $12 for adults and $8 for children.
Ice Skating with Santa at Discovery Green|Saturday 5-6 p.m.| It's your chance to hit the ice with Jolly St. Nick. Skate rentals are $4, and tickets are $11.
Holly Jolly Food Truck Christmas| Saturday 11-7 at Town Green Park in The Woodlands| grab some tasty treats, enjoy some live music and get your photo taken with Santa.
Plant Texas Natives| Jesse Jones Park| Saturday, Dec. 15 at 9 a.m.|
Green thumbs are not required for this mission to take root! All ages can sow the seeds of tomorrow on this day dedicated to restoration. Revitalize natural habitats by planting native species and sowing seeds to secure the future of Jones Park’s unique ecosystem. Reservations required beginning Wednesday, Dec. 5. Closed-toed shoes required; gloves and long pants are recommended.
Homestead Open House| Jesse Jones Park| Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Appreciate modern conveniences by taking a step back in time. Explore the park’s historically accurate 1830s Redbud Hill Homestead and Akokisa-Ishak Village. Learn about two very different, yet successful ways of life. Self-guided interpretive brochures are available in the Nature Center, so visitors can move at their own pace.
Christmas Party with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Southern Star Brewery| Conroe, TX | Saturday, 6-10 p.m. Bust out the ugly Christmas sweaters and come on out and party with the Jolly elf and his missus. The Home Brewed Brass Ensemble will be playing the holiday tunes and of course we’ll be having a Ugly Sweater contest. If that wasn’t enough, the delicious smells of BBQ will be in the air thanks to La Grange Bar B Que & Grill! Taproom opens at noon, Christmas party will begin at 6pm until 10pm. Bring the whole family out!
Holiday Music in Sugar Land Town Square| Sugar Land 5-7 p.m.| Free| First Colony Church of Christ’s band will be warming up Town Square with the sound of its blended contemporary and classic Christmas music as it performs modern and acappella versions of your favorite carols and fun Christmas favorites. We hope you’ll join us for a great family night out as we rock around the Christmas tree!
Santa Hustle and 5K Run| Sunday @7 a.m.| Galveston| Have Santa duds? You have to wear them while you're running this cool 5K or half marathon. And if you don't have them, the race organizers have their own, and that includes the beard. Just kidding, but only a little. Registration is $49.75. Come in a jolly mood. There will be cookies, candy canes, and lots of holiday tunes.
A Christmas Story at Karbach| Sunday, Dec. 16| Join Shop Local Market for the free A Christmas Story Art Market and movie screening at Karbach Brewing Co. This Sunday, December 16 from 12 p.m. - 7 p.m., everyone is invited to chat with local artists and vendors and enjoy the beloved A Christmas Story movie at the brewery’s Biergarten. Ugly Christmas sweaters will be onsite and there will be a gift wrapping station set up, so be sure to bring a chair and crack open a cold brew—Karbach, of course—while you shop in the Biergarten!
