1. Two teenagers have been shot at an apartment complex in southwest Houston Friday evening, police said. According to officers with the Houston Police Department, the shooting happened around 6:52 p.m. in the block 12000 Dunlap Street near Fonmeadow. (Click2Houston)

2. On Thursday, FIFA announced the 16 host cities across North America, with three Mexican cities, two from Canada, and 11 cities from the United States selected for the men's World Cup in 2026. Houston was included in the 11 U.S. cities. (Fox 26)

3. A woman was killed in a car crash involving three vehicles in northeast Harris County on Friday afternoon, according to deputies. At about 3:30 p.m., Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a crash in the 19300 block of West Lake Houston Parkway at FM 1960. (ABC 13)

4. Galveston's iconic Pleasure Pier celebrated its ten year anniversary on June 16. The tourist destination was the largest of its kind in the country in the late 1940s. (Community Impact News)

5. About 9,000 Texas Republicans descended on downtown Houston, with a growing number of them identifying as Hispanic, for the Republican State Convention at George R. Brown Convention Center on Thursday. Latinos are the key to Texas Republican power. (Fox 26)

  • Houston-based Kolors has announced $26 million in funding. The funding will allow Kolors to grow in Mexico, expand into new Latin American markets and enable cross-border U.S. travel. (CultureMap Houston)
