Houston Man Tries To Sell Stolen Car Online, And Goes To Jail

Larry Wagstaff is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, forgery, and possession of a controlled substance.

CONROE, TX — A Houston man who tried to sell a stolen vehicle on CraigsList was arrested and faces multiple felony charges. Conroe Police arrested 63-year-old Larry Wagstaff after he tried to a sell a stolen 2017 Nissan Frontier Pickup to undercover police.

Investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Auto Theft Task Force were notified on Jan. 4 that a stolen vehicle was listed for sale on the website. Once police verified with Houston Police that the vehicle was stolen, they arranged a meeting at a location on West Davis Street in Conroe.

When Wagstaff arrived in the stolen vehicle, he was immediately taken into custody. Wagstaff is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, forgery of a government document, and possession of a controlled substance. He is in the Montgomery County Jail with bail set at $6000.
