1. A Houston resident has claimed a $1 million prize from Friday's Mega Millions drawing, according to the Texas Lottery. The person, who elected to remain anonymous, bought the ticket at Circle M #2 Food Store on Aldine Westfield Road in Aldine. (Houston Patch)

2. Three top Houston chefs are teaming up to help a local farm recover from a devastating fire that occurred on May 22. James Beard Award winner Chris Shepherd will be joined by Local Foods chef-partner Dylan Murray and Brandi Key (Dish Society, Daily Gather) at a benefit to assist Atkinson Farm. (CultureMap Houston)

3. A suspect crashed into three vehicles during a chase Wednesday in southeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department. It happened just after 1 p.m. between Scarsdale and Astoria Boulevard. (KHOU 11)

4. For the upcoming 2022-23 school year, Fort Bend ISD will expand its prekindergarten program to six additional campuses, the district announced on May 11. Children eligible to attend the program must either qualify according to the federal income eligibility guidelines, come from a family in which English is not the primary language or be a dependent of a member of the U.S. military or a first responder, according to the announcement. 5. In a Wednesday morning tweet posted by Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, she made it clear that she expects to face criminal charges in an ongoing investigation involving the Texas Rangers and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Last month, three of her senior staffers - Alex Triantaphyllis, Wallis Nader and Aaron Dunn - were indicted on felonies by a Harris County grand jury in connection to a government contract.
