HPD: Man Wounded During Homeland Security Operation

A man whose home was one of several being raided by Homeland Security and DEA agents was shot and wounded: Reports

HOUSTON, TX -- Houston Police are investigating after a man was shot during an operation in southwest Houston involving agents from Homeland Security and the Drug Enforcement Agency.

Assistant Police Chief Bobby Dobbins said HPD was called to the area of Grapevine Street and Croquet Lane about 6 a.m. to help serve a warrant at several homes in the area.

Dobbins said agents went into a home in the 6100 block of Grapevine to serve a search and arrest warrant when they encountered one man inside.

Agents allegedly gave commands to the man, who refused to obey and was shot when the agents felt they were in danger, KPRC reported.

Officials said the man, who was shot in the abdomen, was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital.

The incident is under investigation.
