Investigators said hotel personnel let the officers into the man's room, where the officer found narcotics.

Baimbridge said the officer placed the baggie of evidence in his patrol car, and immediately started feeling ill.

The officer was administered Narcan – an emergency treatment administered for opioid overdoses – and was taken to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he is in stable condition.

Meanwhile, police are looking for the man who reserved the room.
