CYPRESS, TX -- The Harris County Sheriff's Office is asking for help in solving the brutal murder of an 18-year-old Cypress student in 2015.

On June 8, 2015, Jonathan Minder, a senior at Langham Creek High School, was found beaten to death in his bedroom by his mother, Elisa Leboy.

Just before lunchtime, Leboy left to take Jonathan's older brother to work, and when she returned an hour later, she found Minder dead.

"There wasn't any indication that anyone forced their way inside the home, and our investigators suspect that Jonathan may have known his killer," said Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Investigators shared photos of a 2007 black Nissan Altima that was seen on video surveillance arriving at Minder's home a short time after Leboy left, and left just before she came home.

"We have investigated several suspects and we've been able to clear them," said Detective Michael Ritchie, the lead investigator in the case.

Meanwhile, Leboy, who stood behind Sheriff Gonzalez during the press conference, asked if anyone knew anything to come forward.

"I'm the only one who can be his voice right now," she said. "I really am just wanting someone to come forward with information...This is something my family lives through every day."

She described her son as a great kid, with an amazing future.

"I don't understand and I'll never understand, but I think I can be my son's voice and have someone come forward with some type of information so we can have some type of closure," she said.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477)
