League City Man Netted In Online Sex Sting

HOUSTON, TX – A League City man who thought he was meeting a 15-year-old girl for sex was arrested Monday by undercover deputies as part of an online sting operation. Adam Wellborn Hollyfield, 37, is charged with online solicitation of a minor, a second-degree felony that is punishable of up to 20 years in prison.

The sting was dubbed "Operation Adam and Eve" after Wellborn told investigators from Precinct One during those online chats his name was Adam. Wellborn had been chatting online with undercover investigators for more than a week and had allegedly expressed a desire to have sex with the 15-year-old he thought he was speaking with, according to a press release.

Wellborn, who is married and has two small children including one with special needs, sent investigators explicit photos of himself during those chats.

Investigators and Wellborn agreed on a rendezvous for sex and on Monday afternoon, Wellborn was arrested without incident and taken to the Harris County Jail, where he is being held pending a bond hearing.

“Precinct One takes great pride in arresting those attempting to prey on our children,” said Constable Alan Rosen. “Such crimes will not be tolerated.”
