1. Hando will join Feges BBQ, Shoot the Moon and Slowpokes in Braun Enterprises's Spring Branch Village shopping center at 8141 Long Point Rd. The location is planned for early 2023, the Hando will be similar to the original location on 11th Street that opened in 2019. (CultureMap Houston)

2. Dak & Bop, which means “Chicken & Rice,” in Korean is participating in Asian Restaurant Month for the second year in a row. "Myself being a Korean American…there’s a lot of people that come here have never tried Korean food and so I want it to be not intimidating – I want it to be inviting," said owner, Jason Cho. 3. Surgeries at the Micheal E. DeBakey VA Medical Center were shut down after reports of bacterial water contamination of surgical instruments on Wednesday. In a statement from the Houston VA Communications Director, the hospital suspects that the water sample from the surgical instrument cleaning table was contaminated due to a mailing issue. (ABC 13)

4. Family-owned eatery Los Perez is anticipated to open a new restaurant in Katy in June. Located at 3211 W. Grand Parkway, Ste. 100, Los Perez will serve Tex-Mex classics, such as burritos, quesadillas, taco plates, carne asada, camarones diablo and fajitas. The Houston location at 9439 Hwy. 6 S. will remain open. (Community Impact Newspaper)

5. Officials have a Houston-area man behind bars for his role in a telemarketing scheme, where he received more than $1 million from more than 100 people. The United States Attorney's Office - Southern District of Texas announced Michael Laurendeau was arrested Friday morning after an investigation with Pearland PD and the FBI. (Fox 26 Houston)
