Maleah Davis' Mother Accuses Boyfriend Of Abusing Missing Girl

HOUSTON — The mother of 4-year-old Maleah Davis held a press conference on Friday and accused her boyfriend, Darion Vence, of abusing her daughter. Flanked by community activist Quanell X, Davis' mother Brittany Bowens wept as Quanell alleged that Vence abused the little girl and claimed there was surveillance video showing Vence leaving the family's apartment with a bottle bleach and a laundry basket.

Quanell said Bowens admitted that she'd never reported the abuse allegations to the police.

Maleah Davis disappeared on Friday, May 3, while she and Vence were on their way to Bush Intercontinental Airport to pick up Bowens in northeast Houston.

Vence, who never showed up at the airport, claimed he was ambushed by three Hispanic men in a blue Chevy pickup who kidnapped him, his 2-year-old son, and Maleah. Vence allegedly told police he woke up on the side of the road at State Highway 6 and U.S. 59 the following evening with his son, and that the men had taken Maleah.

Crews with Texas EquuSearch and local law enforcement agencies searched near Greens Road and U.S 59 where Vence said he was assaulted and kidnapped, and in southwest Houston near the family's apartment complex.

On Thursday, police received a tip that the silver Nissan Altima that Vence said had been stolen, was found in the parking lot of a Missouri City shopping center. Crime Scene Investigators are examining the vehicle for forensic evidence.

Police are examining surveillance video from the area to determine who drove the car to the shopping center.
