Man Accused Of Strangling Wife Is Charged With Murder

HOUSTON, TX -- A 67-year-old man is behind bars after he allegedly admitted to strangling his wife to death, authorities said.

Police were called to 7018 Harrisburg Boulevard at about 9:55 a.m. on July 4 for an assault call, and when they arrived, the found the woman sitting in the driver's seat with her husband beside her.

HPD detectives said when they arrived, they found Olazaran unresponsive and sitting inside a vehicle.

She was taken by paramedics to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined her cause of death to be by manual strangulation.

HPD homicide investigators spoke with Francisco Olazaran and he admitted to his involvement in his wife's death, police said. He was taken into custody and charged.
