Palais Royal And thredUP Team Up For Thrifty Retail Partnership

HOUSTON — Are you looking to enhance your summer wardrobe? Palais Royal, one of Houston’s popular clothing retailers has teamed up with online consignment retailer thredUP to offer sweet deals for those extra thrifty shoppers.

Karen MacKay, who manages the Palais Royal store in Meyerland, said shoppers are loving the pop-up shop from thredUP in her store.

“We put ours in place last October, and we were pretty excited about it,” MacKay said. “From the time we put this in, the reception from the customers was just awesome.”

MacKay said when she heard about the partnership, she did a little research on thredUP and thought the pop-up concept would attract a more hip crowd of shoppers, and admits she was surprised at the response.

“It was amazing. A lot of our regular customers are in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and they totally got it, because it’s a resale thing and that’s the era they grew up in,” she said. “The blend of generations was what was awesome from day one.”

Palais Royal is the first retailer to sign on with this unique partnership with thredUP, and offering a pop-up location for those shoppers who prefer brick and mortar stores, over online shopping.
