Houston Area Fireworks Cancelled For Bad Weather
A soggy Independence Day forecast is prompting yet more communities to cancel their planned July 4th activities.

HOUSTON, TX -- The threat of rain for Independence Day has forced some communities in Greater Houston to cancel their planned July 4th fireworks display.
Several communities in the Houston area began promoting their events on social media weeks ahead of July 4th, but with the forecast calling for an 80 percent chance of rain, some communities are opting to cancel their events.

The City of Tomball was the first to announce the cancellation of its annual street festival on Monday afternoon.
The Woodlands has cancelled their fireworks show, ABC13 reports. Rosenberg, Garden Oaks, League City and more have also cancelled.

ABC13 also reported that Seabrook, Santa Fe and Northfork cancelled their children's parades.
On Tuesday, Galen Park announced the were also cancelling their July 4th events, along with the City of Rosenberg, who made their announcement Tuesday night.
Kemah, which hosts a fireworks event at the boardwalk, canceled events on Wednesday after storms rolled into the Gulf Coast Tuesday night.
The City Of Katy canceled its events for the morning and the afternoon, but will still hold its fireworks show.
Meanwhile, other communities are opting to stick with their plans for July 4th fireworks.

Forecasters are calling for periods of heavy rain to move easterly through the area late Tuesday into early Wednesday, providing showers through most of Wednesday.
