Jazmine Barnes Killing: Sketch Of Suspect Released By Cops

Police are looking for a thinly built white man, possibly in his 30's or 40's, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and driving a red pickup

HOUSTON, TX — Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide investigators have released a sketch of the man wanted in the Dec. 30 shooting death of 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes.

Officials were able to get a description of the man and create the sketch based on a description provided by members of Jazmine’s family.

Jazmine was in a four-door Dodge passenger car traveling in the southbound lanes of E. Sam Houston Parkway frontage road just south of Wallisville Road, with her mother and three sisters at about 6:50 a.m.

Officials said the man, who was driving a red, four-door pickup, pulled up next to a car driven by LaPorsha Washington and started shooting.

Jazmine was shot and killed, and her mother was wounded. The alleged shooter is a thinly built white man, possibly in his 30’s or 40’s, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt at the time.

Previous reports indicated he was wearing glasses and had a beard, but officials said he was clean shaven and was not wearing glasses.

A substantial financial reward is being offered to anyone who is able to provide information that leads to the arrest of a suspect.
