1. Space Center Houston is launching a new festival this summer. Moon2Mars is a three-day public event from June 9 to June 12 that provides a look at the latest space technology and hands-on experiences like piloting an actual space rover. (CultureMap Houston)
2. A suspect was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after being shot by an officer in southwest Houston, according to police. The incident happened in the 10600 block of Beechnut near Maplecrest on Wednesday afternoon. (Click2Houston)
3. A Harris Co. deputy whose vehicle was hit by an 18-wheeler on Highway 249 has died from his injuries, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said. The sheriff identified the fallen deputy as 27-year-old Robert Adam Howard. (ABC 13)
4. 29-year-old Jalen Randle was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon by Houston police. His family is outraged and wants answers as to why their son had to be gunned down. "I just want y’all to tell me what happened to my child. That's all — just tell me what happened to my child…" said Jalen Randle's mother. (KHOU 11)
5. Harris County Attorney Christian D. Menefee advocated for residents and voiced concerns about Texas's non-compliance with ozone standards at a virtual public hearing with the Environmental Protection Agency regarding Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). The Houston area has failed to attain each of the four ozone NAAQS at the time of initial designation. (Houston Style Magazine)

- Firefighters in the Cy-Fair area warned residents of a controlled fire caused by a burning lithium generator. According to Cy-Fair official Eddie Cruz, a call about the fire came in around 1:05 p.m. Wednesday. (Click2Houston)
- At least 16 people were onboard a United Airlines flight when it went off the runway Wednesday afternoon at Bush Airport. According to airport officials, the plane skid off the runway. (ABC 13)
