Things Happening In Houston The First Weekend Of 2019

It's the first non-holiday weekend in a while, and the weather's perfect for shaking off the holidays and enjoying your community.

HOUSTON, TX — It’s the first non-holiday weekend in two weeks, and the first weekend in a while that’s not completely soggy. So what are you going to do about it?

If plans are still up in the air, there’s plenty happening all over the Houston area this weekend.

Farmer’s Market at Elizabeth Baldwin Park| Midtown Houston| Saturday 10-2| Local growers and vendors every weekend.

Tomball Farmer’s Market| Saturday 9-1| Located at 205 W. Main St. on the corner of Main Street (FM 2920) and Walnut Street in Downtown Tomball two blocks west of the railroad tracks, you will find plenty of free parking.This market was created by farmers and is operated by farmers.

Children’s Winter Camp at Mercer Botanic Gardens|Spring, TX|Friday, Jan. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Children can kick off the new year with lessons in healthy cooking at Mercer’s Winter Camp. Following the Learn! Grow! Eat! & Go! Junior Master Gardener curriculum, children will use the Charlie Cart Project mobile kitchen to practice cooking techniques encouraging healthy eating. Children will also plant vegetables, taste fresh produce, and engage in fun, outdoor physical activities. Space is limited, and registration is required. $30 per child. Twilight Walk in Jesse Jones Park| Spring, TX| Saturday, Jan. 5 at 5:30 p.m.Join Assistant Park Director Matt Abernathy for a dusk-to-dark forest foray. Discover a whole new world as the sun goes to sleep and the woods awaken! Guests will have the rare opportunity to see and hear animals in Jones Park after dark. Bring a flashlight and wear closed-toed walking shoes. Ages 8 and up. Reservations required.

Bridal Extravaganza at the George R. Brown| Houson| Saturday and Sunday| Tickets| Win a free honeymoon, find your dress, and put the finishing touches on the biggest day of your life.
