Volunteers Needed to Plant Wildflowers Along the Bayou Greenways

Volunteers are needed for the 10th Annual Lady Bird Johnson Tribute Wildflower Planting.

HOUSTON, TX - For the third year in a row, we're teaming up with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department for their 10th Annual Lady Bird Johnson Tribute Wildflower Planting. This year, we're planting hundreds of acres of wildflower meadows along the Bayou Greenways, and we could use some helping hands. This is a fun and easy volunteer opportunity for all ages.

Join H.P.A.R.D. for one of the city’s most popular volunteer activities, the 10th Annual Lady Bird Johnson Tribute - Wildflower Planting Project at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016! This wildflower planting project began in 2007 as a tribute to Lady Bird Johnson and her dedication to the environment and beautification of Texas. In 2016, volunteers will plant a mixture of wildflower seeds at several locations. A planting event at Sylvan Rodriguez Park took place on October 13.
To volunteer, please contact H.P.A.R.D. at Oneika.shelby@houstontx.gov.
