Wind Down With Labor Day Activities In Houston
Labor Day is the unofficial start to the fall season and there's a lot going on in Houston to celebrate this weekend.

HOUSTON -- What’s happening this Labor Day weekend? It’s the last long weekend of summer and the unofficial start of fall. It’s also the last big weekend for outdoor grilling and other events related to summer.
But there’s still a lot happening in the Bayou City as Summer 2018 comes to an end, and the season of Pumpkin Spice everything fires up. So keep your flip-flops for one last weekend hurrah and check out some of these cool Labor Day weekend events.

Labor Day Backyard Barbecue at George Ranch| Richmond| Saturday thru Labor Day starting at 9 a.m. each day|One of the great community events in Fort Bend County. Tons of barbecue and yard games the entire weekend for the whole family. Brisket,venison, beef and pork sausage, mesquite con pollo, cowboy beans, potato salad are all on the menu. $15.
Riva Row Boathouse| The Woodlands| – There are many options to experience The Woodlands by water at the Riva Row Boathouse. This will be the perfect time to rent one of the brand-new swan-shaped boats. Also available are single or tandem kayaks and paddle boards. Life jackets included in each rental. Dogs are welcome, and there are even dog life jackets available. The Boathouse will be open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Learn More

Labor Day Luau at Wet ‘n’ Wild Splashtown|Spring, Texas| Monday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.|Tickets are $34.99| Get as wet and wild as you want on the massive water slide. There will also be luau style fire dancers, face painting, balloon are and a whole lot more.

Towne Lake Labor Day Parade| Cypress, Texas| Monday 10 a.m. - noon| FREEBIE|Sponsored by the Towne Lake Community Association, this event invites the public and local residents to show their American pride and spirit.
3rd Annual Ice Cream Social at Stevenson Park| Friendswood, Texas |Sunday 3-5 p.m.| FREEBIE| Go back to a simpler time, you know, before selfies and cell phones and when people were social. Sponsored by the Friends of Downtown Friendswood at this cool event you can enjoy ice cream, cookies, lemonade and root beer, and live music from the Wild River Trio.
