She was taken by EMS to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told police that she and her husband had recently split up, KTRK reported.

Investigators said the estranged husband was waiting for her when she arrived at work, and that the two argued before he allegedly shot her to death, possibly with a shotgun.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and reported seeing the woman's husband leaving the area after the shooting.

Investigators said they are still processing the evidence, and interviewing the husband.
