Four Suspects Who Shot At Police Charged, Arrested

Suspects shot at unmarked police vehicle early one morning last month

HOUSTON, TX β€” Four suspects who fired shots at Houston Police officers July 10 were arrested on Friday and a mix of charges - aggravated assault against a public servant and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon - have been filed. According to a release, HPD officers were on duty in an unmarked police vehicle about 3 a.m. in the 2100 block of Sampson when several unknown suspects fired shots at the vehicle.

The vehicle was struck but the officers managed to avoid being struck by the gunfire and drove away from the location. At that time, two males were detained for questioning and then released. The HPD Special Investigations Unit (SIU), along with the Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) and the South Central Patrol Tactical Unit initiated an investigation into the incident.

Two suspects, Lionel Cox (18) and Raymond Pace (18), are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 178th State District Court. Another suspect, Noah Davis (22), is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant and possession with intent to deliver in the 228th State District Court.

A fourth suspect, Jerod White (26), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 230th State District Court.

Further investigation identified Cox, Pace, Davis and White as suspects in this case and all four were subsequently charged for their roles.
