5 Injured In Head-On Crash In North Harris County
Police are investigating a crash reported at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on Orange Grove Drive near Vickery Street that injured 2 adults and 3 kids.
HOUSTON — Two adults and three children were injured in a head-on crash in northeast Harris County Tuesday morning. One of the children, an 11-year-old girl, was trapped beneath the steering column after the crash, investigators said.
The crash happened at about 7:30 a.m. on Orange Grove Drive near Vickery Street, according to police.
Investigators said a white Jeep Cherokee and a gray van collided head-on, which caused the Jeep to burst into flames. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, escaped.

Witnesses ran to help the driver of the Jeep, and the woman who said her daughter was lodged under the steering wheel.
EMS and deputies were able to free the child, who was listed in stable condition.

Officials didn’t say if the children were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The cause of the crash is under investigation
