Viewer records video showing rats on fresh produce at Humble Walmart (click2houston.com) — A shopper’s video from the Walmart on North Sam Houston Parkway East in Humble shows two rats crawling over cucumbers in the fresh produce section, raising serious sanitation concerns. Walmart says affected items were removed and extra precautions taken, while Harris County Public Health records on this location’s inspections and complaints are still pending.

Humble police chief moved to unpaid leave amid ongoing investigation (click2houston.com) — Humble’s police chief has been moved from paid to unpaid leave while an outside law firm investigates his undisclosed role with a private training company using Humble Police Department facilities. City officials say they were unaware of his outside employment and stress they’re cooperating with an independent probe, but won’t release further details until the investigation is complete.

Texas man pleads guilty to trafficking bald, golden eagles (thewesternnews.com) — A Humble resident has pleaded guilty in federal court to buying illegally killed bald and golden eagles that were mailed from Montana to his home in Humble. Prosecutors say he paid thousands of dollars for eagle feathers and parts over several months. Sentencing is scheduled for April 2026, and he faces potential prison time and significant fines.
   

4. Troy Volleyball adds UT Arlington transfer Sophie Ocampo (troymessenger.com) — A Humble native, outside hitter Sophie Ocampo is transferring from UT Arlington to join Troy University’s 2026 volleyball signing class. The 6-foot-3 standout and former Kingwood High School star brings strong college stats and Houston-area prep honors to a recruiting group that also includes top players from Alabama, Florida, Texas, and Wisconsin.
   

5. Woman killed in Jones County two-vehicle collision (myfoxzone.com) — A 21-year-old woman from Humble was killed in a two-vehicle crash on FM 600 in Jones County, far west of home. She was a passenger in a Jeep Grand Cherokee that collided head-on while attempting to pass in a no-passing zone, leaving three others hospitalized with serious injuries.
