Atascocita Middle Schooler Arrested With Saw Blade, Hit List

School Principal Karl Koehler said the student came to school with an 8-inch blade used to cut tree limbs, and a hit list.

ATASCOCITA, TX — An Atascocita Middle School student was arrested after he came to school Wednesday with a saw blade and a supposed hit list containing the names of students, police said.

Humble ISD officials learned of the student from a tip, which they shared with Humble ISD Police and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

School Principal Karl Koehler said the student, who was not identified, came to campus Wednesday morning with the hit list and an 8-inch blade that is typically used to cut tree limbs

Koehler released the following statement, which read in part:

“The moment that we received a tip about a potential safety concern, we took immediate action by launching an investigation. We involved Humble ISD Police, who gathered information and presented it to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office,” Koehler said in a statement to parents.

Koehler added that no students were harmed, and that school administrators are having personal conversations with the parents of students whose names were listed.

Meanwhile, the student has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, a third-degree felony, officials said.
