City To Host Ribbon Cutting At Dylan Duncan Skate Park July 16

The Dylan Duncan Skate Park, originally named the Kingwood Skate Park, was the first public skate park built by the City of Houston in 2004.

HOUSTON — The Houston Parks and Recreation Department will unveil the newly renovated Dylan Duncan Skate Park during a special ribbon cutting ceremony on July 16, according to Houston City Councilman Dave Martin's office.

The unveiling takes place at 9 a.m. at the Dylan Duncan Skate Park, located at 950 Rustic Woods, in Kingwood.

The request for improvements was brought to Martin's attention in early 2019, and he was honored to use $49,332 of his Council District Service Funds to make the necessary renovations which will improve safety as well as maximize enjoyment for park goers.

The renovations at the park include:

  • Updating and installing new equipment
  • Re-coating surfaces throughout the park
  • Adding barriers and removing panels
  • Power washing and painting gazebos, and various other repairs as needed.

The Dylan Duncan Skate Park, originally named the Kingwood Skate Park, was the very first public skate park built by the City of Houston in 2004.

The skate park It was renamed the Dylan Duncan Skate Park in December 2006 after Dylan Jacob Duncan, an avid skater in the Kingwood area who passed away in 2005.
