Crosby Man Leads Police On Bizarre Chase In Stolen Ambulance
A Crosby man is accused of stealing an ambulance from Kingwood Medical Center and leading police on a slow speed chase into Crosby.
CROSBY, TX — A Crosby man was arrested after he led police on a slow speed chase in a stolen ambulance, officials said. The incident began just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday when the man stole an ambulance from Kingwood Medical Center.
Police said the EMS crew picked up the man in Crosby for an unknown issue, and took him to Kingwood Medical Center for observation.
When they arrived at the hospital, the man was able to get away from paramedics and steal the ambulance, police said.

The chase lasted about an hour, and while he was driving the ambulance, police said the man got on the radio and began a bizarre expletive-filled rant about aliens and God.

The chase, which included units from Humble Police, Houston Police, and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, meandered through Humble, Atascocita and into Crosby.

Witnesses said the man was heard screaming out the window about Jesus as he passed into his Crosby neighborhood.
Police were able to stop the ambulance with spike strips.
The man was taken into custody and transported to a different hospital. Police have not said if the man was under the influence of narcotics, or if this was a mental health episode. His man has not been released. The incident is under investigation.
