Early Voting Is Underway: Find Out What's On The Ballot In Humble
Voters will decided who will take the place of board trustee Keith Lapeze, and if Mayor Merle Aaron will serve a third term.
HUMBLE, TX — Early voting has begun in Texas, and residents in Humble will have a lot of choices to make this election season. Some of the key local elections include the race to replace a school board trustee who’d served for more than a decade and a contested mayoral race.
For the first time in 13 years, Kingwood attorney Keith Lapeze will not be seated on the Humble ISD board of trustees to kick off a new school year.
Four candidates are vying to replace Lapeze in Position 2, including former board trustee Robert Scarfo, former educator Janie Branham, Nikki Roux, and Ryan Engolio. Colin Carney, the trustee for Position 6 is challenged by Lori Twomey, and Nancy Morrison is running unopposed for the Position 7 seat.

In the Humble City elections, Mayor Merel Aaron is seeking a third term and faces a challenge from retired Humble ISD educator Arliss Bentley, who is making her first run at elected office.
Meanwhile, two council seats are also on the ballot. Position 1 Councilman Andy Curry is running unposed, and Glenn Redmon is seeking to replace Councilman Ray Calfee who didn’t a new term for Position 2.
Early voting continues through April 30. Polls will be open April 22 - April 27 from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., April 28 from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m., and April 29 - April 30 from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
