Humble Fireworks Store Burns, Police Say It Could Be Arson

Investigators believe arson may be to blame for a fire inside a fireworks store in Humble after they discovered forced entry.

HUMBLE, TX — The Harris County Fire Marshals Office believes a fire at a fireworks store in Humble may have been deliberately set after they found evidence of forced entry, investigators said. Firefighters arrived at the store, located in the 2900 block of FM 1960 East at about 3 a.m. Wednesday.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke, and were able to fight the fire from the outside of the store. Officials said there were some fireworks inside the store, but none were ignited.

Once the fire was extinguished, investigators discovered the back door of the business had been forced open.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire.
