ATASCOCITA, TX — A powerful storm system accompanied by high winds that toppled fences, downed power lines, and snapped trees like toothpicks roared through areas of Atascocita and Lake Houston on Sunday.

The powerful storm system rolled through the Houston area at about 10:30 a.m. knocking out power to nearly 140,000 Houston area residents and spawning at least one confirmed tornado in Pasadena.
