Check Out The City Of Humble And Humble ISD Election Results

Humble Mayor Merle Aaron wins a third term, and Robert Scarfo returns to Humble ISD School Board.

HUMBLE, TX — Election day is over and the people spoke loudly in several Humble area elections on Saturday. Among those was the mayors race in Humble that pitted incumbent Merle Aaron against retired school teacher Arliss Bentley, who is making her first run at elected office.

Aaron held off Bentley's challenge, and won his third term with 69.22% to Bentley's 30.78%. Meanwhile. Position 1 Councilman Andy Curry ran unopposed, and Glenn Redmon who also ran unopposed, replace Councilman Ray Calfee who didn't seek a new term for Position 2.

The Humble ISD board of trustees race featured a changing of the guard with long time trustee Keith Lapeze ending a 13-year run.

The four candidates who sought to replace Lapeze in Position 2, included former board trustee Robert Scarfo, former educator Janie Branham, Nikki Roux, and Ryan Engolio. Scarfo easily won the seat with 55.91%, compared to Roux, who came in second with 24.03%.

In Position 6, Trustee Colin Carney lost a close race to challengers Lori Twomey. **The initial story that ran late Saturday projected Carney as the winner with a narrow victory with 94% percent of the precincts reporting. The new results from Harris County were posted, which swung the election in Twomey's favor.**
